Hello! Lily-Jo here! It’s World Mental Health Day and to celebrate I wanted to highlight some of the amazing organisations and charities that I have had the pleasure of working with over the past few years since The Lily Jo Project launched in 2016. Partnership and consistency is key to eliminating the stigma that surrounds mental health, and collectively I believe we are doing a brilliant job!
SANE
SANE is a charity that works to improve the quality of life for anyone affected by mental illness.
With music being a powerful tool to lift your mood and increase feelings of happiness, SANE has an audio gallery on their website with tonnes of talented artists who champion them. It is my pleasure to be part of the SANE audio gallery, why not check my song Unstoppable out here.
The Counselling Directory
Undertaking a series of counselling sessions can be key to unlocking your mental health concerns. By exploring your thoughts and feelings with an impartial therapist who is empathic, non-judgmental and honest, you could be able to move to a place of acceptance and healing.
Counselling Directory connects you with a counsellor or therapist in your area.
Check out the interview I did with Counselling Directory back in 2017 but that still stands today:

Young Minds
Last but certainly not least, Young Minds are leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges.
What Young Mind Does
Young Minds deliver In-person workshops with young people, parents, and educators, and provide Provide a 24/7 crisis textline which is incredibly valuable in times when you feel isolated or alone. You can find more information on their website here, and go yellow this mental health day to support them.
I’m so excited and encouraged to see so many organisations and charities playing their part to help you begin to help yourself. If you would like to consider supporting the work we do here at The Lily Jo Project you can donate easily here: www.thelilyjoproject.com/donate
Happy World Mental Health Day to you! Let’s continue to eliminate the stigma.
Love
Lily-Jo
